Hello everyone,i am new to this board,i belong to peri-menopause board as well.I just recieved a call from my eldest daughter(31 years old)that she has been diagnosed with Hemochromatosis,i am devistated,did i pass this on to her?I was tested for this 2 years ago (because of some symptoms)and results were negative.I was so relieved,now this.Should i be re-tested now?where do i go from here?please help,i feel awefull!

I Have Hemochromatosis. Yes It Is A Pani. But It Can Be Taken Care Of. Well You Or Your Husband Must Be An Carrier Of This. She Just Has To Watch Her Protein And She Will Have To Get Phlebotomies Done Till Her Level Is Down. Then She Will Have To Get Them Check About Every 2 Months To See If She Needs Any More Done. If You Take Care Of It And Keep Your Phlebotomy Up She Will Fine.
