Take 680 mg/day. With the NSI brand that equates to two per day.

680 mg daily. That is the dose that they achieved the best results with in the studies on strontium ranelete. Be sure to take it at least 2-3 hours away from calcium. I take the dr.best strontium bonemaker. I found good deals on it, after searching around on the net. good luck to you.

If I have 2 cups of (decaf) coffee with coffee mate in the morning with my strontium do you think that small amount of Ca is going to interfere with the strontium?

Take it at night before going to bed or during the night when you get up. Main thing is no dairy within 2 or 3 hours before or after. Some say no food either within the timeframe.

Hello everyone...a total of 680 mg. is the reccommended dose like tomatoejuice mentioned. i take the NSI as bedtime..both caps at once, which makes it easy to do.
The amount of calcium in coffeemate probably isn't going to interfere with the strontium. I think what the "no calcium near" refers to a supplement with 500 or 600 mg. or a high calcium food like milk or yogurt.
I try not to eat for a few hours before taking it but sometimes i'll snack on something light. The nsi i have doesn't say annthing about taking it on an empty stomach. Strontium renalate is taken that way and we've been following their method. take care...phyllis

Thanks Karin. Just trying to set up a schedule here. I will take it at nite. You're right. I've purchased AOR Strontium. It says "take 2 - 227 mg capsules on an empty stomach, at least 2 hrs before or after food, calcium or milk. Calcium food and milk products significantly reduce strontium absorption if taken at the same sitting."
This dosage seems low. I think I'll go and see a naturopath dr.

Yeah....I think I'll take it a nite - 3 hrs after food and calcium. I shouldn't be eating at night anyways! :D I just ******d and it says "all food should have left the stomach within 2-4 hrs.

Gee Kind of tough to schedule three dosages of calcium and then strontium..especially since my synthroid comes first at 6 am on an empty stomach and need to wait 3-4 hours to start calcium, especially if calcium needs to be taken with food...I'll be eating and popping supplements all day....lol.........;)

I know what you mean! I've read that Calcium citrate doesn't need to be taken with food so I switched to that. Apparently, it is broken down before it enters the stomach. That was a blessing since we go out for dinner a lot and saves me from hauling out my pills.:D
I take liquid Calcium citrate which has 600 mg per tablespoon. They say you shouldn't take more than 500 mg per dose but the woman at the health food store told me 600 wouldn't matter. So I take 2 tbsp a day without food and my vitamin pill has 200 mg in it. That gets me up to 1400 and I figure my food gets another 100 to make 1500mg per day.

Hi Mbeth...I'm on total thyroid replacement so i take synthroid too. Like you, I take mine early in the morning. I found a calcium supplement that is formulated to be taken in dose. its called EZcal 1000 with D by Windmill Health Products. I used to find it at walgreens, but they no longer sell it so i order it online. I know they say to take it in smaller doses, but this has worked well for me. one tablet once a day. I don't know how it works, but my last lab work showed a higher calicum level than when i was spacing 2 tablets a day. I take vitamins after lunch or supper and the strontium before bed. It's tricky business trying to get all the things we need and stay sane doing it. Have a good week..take care..phyllis
