i just found out that my boyfriend has herpes and i have only has sex with him, does that mean that i am definately going to get this

There's nothing definite about this disease but the truth of the matter is the longer you stay together the more likely you will. However, there have been cases where one partner doesn't infect the other. Is he on the meds? Does he have frequent outbreaks? I've read that the more outbreaks a person has the more they shed. So if he doesn't have that many than he "may" not shed that often which will reduce the chance of you getting it. The virus is most contagious when there's an outbreak so do not have sex during this time. If he's on the meds then he will shed less frequently as well.

Basically, no one can tell you if you'll get it or not. Follow precautions i.e. no sex during OB's and it may help if you shower after you guys are intimate because soap and water kills the virus on the skin.

Because you have no outbreaks does not mean you will not shed. The man I acquired my herpes from never had an outbreak (or knew he even had herpes) and he obviously shed as I acquired them from him.
