I had the Mirena IUD put in 8 mos ago after the birth of my 2nd child in 2 years. I got pregnant with her while on the pill (Yasmin). Last month, I developed severe abdominal pain, nausea and fever...all related to a bleeding ovarian cyst. Prior to my IUD insertion I have never had problems with cysts. Is this common? I've read on-line that Mirena may cause ovarian cysts, but how frequently or how common is this?
