I was wondering if any of you have chronic nausea with kidney stones. I just had litho on one stone and have another stone in the other kidney. The stones were discovered because I had gone to the doctor with recurrent nausea. Is this common? As soon as I eat or smell certain odors I get terribly nauseated. I go back Thursday for a check-up from the litho and to decide what to do about the other stone. Le.t me know if any of you has the same problem. I don't know whether to pursue the nausea as a separate issue or if the stones are causing the whole problem. Thanks!

I get really bad nausea when I have the stones. It may indicate stones + kidney infection. I find tagament actually helps with the nausea.

Yes, one of the symptoms of my stones was nausea, so it must be fairly common. Actually, I was getting a CT scan for ulcers when the stoned-out, non functioning kidney was discovered.

I have nausea sometimes and am not sure which one of my ailments causes it. Ginger helps me a lot when that happens. I have crystallized ginger from Trader Joe's and ginger capsules. Ginger tea helps too.

Stones are making me nauseous too, especially now I have the stent, & when the pain from them is really bad it makes me vomit.

Be careful when you vomit, too much wrteching can irritate the stent, trying hugging something in your abdomen when you throw up - a stuffed animal or a pillow.

When I have stones, the vomiting and severe flank pain are my indicators. I have had 5 kidney stones in my life with 3 of them landing me in the ER at separate times in the past 5 years. The other 2 were caught at check-ups.
I have had the stent twice, and I remember how miserable I was with it. Take care of yourself....I think that I did have nausea with the stent now that I think about it.
