Hello,
I'm a newbie to this board, looking for advice. I was diagnosed with BV a week ago, due to odor and discharge with no itching or pain, and was given a weeks worth of Metronidazole pills which I believe is generic Flagyl.
I took my last pill last night, but there is still discharge (same texture, don't believe it's a yeast infection) and no odor.
Should I just return to the doctor for more meds?
thanks for your help!

hi im also a newbie but i know a little about bv, and what i know is that it can be very difficult to treat in some cases. you should return to the doctor and inform them that the treatment was unsuccessful , they will most likely prescribe something else.

good luck

Hi,

I was diagnosed with BV about a month ago. My symptoms were irritation and soreness, no dischage or odor (that I noticed). I was given Metronidazole vaginal cream to take for 7 days. At the end of using the cream, I noticed a clumpy discharge for about a day and a half. After that, everything has been great and cleared up.

It may be the body's way of getting rid of "the stuff"?? If after a few days it still continues, I would call the doctor.
