Florida was great on the feet. After a couple of days feet did'nt hurt at all. Even wearing sandals! But after ten days had to come back. Feet are getting a little better. Still have pain when standing awhile. But compared to last summer, there is a definite improvement. Had to alter my orthotics myself. Doc said they were fine. But I couldnt take the pressure on front of heels. So I ground them down myself. Feels much better now. Hopefully full recovery is around the corner. So how are you doing? Havent seen much on other page. Bye, Bumbie. P.S. how'd you like the warm weather I brought back with me? katkat 04-23-2002, 02:39 PM hey bumbie are you the one responsible for those 80 degree days we had last week? if so i'll take a few more. its been colder this week. i'm so glad to hear your feet are doing better. i've been reading another site about feet. its scarey reading all the bad stuff that can happen to you if you have the surgery for complete plantar fasciitis release. i am getting depressed with the situation here and worried that i won't be able to go back to work. i don't want to end up on disability. i couldn't stand that. but the thought of returning to work without any improvement to my feet is a terrible thought too. what kind of orthotics do you have? are they custom made? i have 6 more days in this cast and then i get something else to replace it.keep your fingers crossed for me. kat bumbie37 04-25-2002, 05:20 PM Katkat, yes I think I did bring weather back. Was 86 degrees the day I got back. My orthotics are made of cork. Have good days and not so good days. Not going to say bad days cause feet have improved alot in last few months. The only time they hurt is when on concrete. Which unfortunately is alot. But I take boots off at break so not so bad. Could be alot werse. I know what you mean about the fear factor. All that stuff I've read on here scared me. Hopefully no more casting. I hear casts are real uncomfortable in the summer. I've still got that knot on arch. Doesnt hurt but I wonder if that is whats causing the problems. I'm afraid I might have to have it removed someday. Which would mean severing that tendon. Just have to wait and see. Good luck, and let me know what next procedure is. Bye, Bumbie. katkat 04-26-2002, 03:05 PM that knot could be scar tissue bumbie. i'd say if it doesn't hurt that bad don't mess with it. its friday and monday i go to get this cast off. thank god. its been 6 long weeks. and money is tight already. sick pay sucks! hey lyndal are you out there? how's your feet doing? sounds like you've been busy. kat claujuh 06-23-2002, 02:51 PM mine worked! but i think there's something else wrong with my foot! i think it's the achilles tendon.... Carey 07-14-2002, 07:32 PM Hi Kat, I had plantar faciitis surgery 3 years ago and it did rid my feet of pain, but a few months down the track i did develop some scar tissue. this then caused a tight pulling under my arch, so i had more surgery to remove the ecar tissue and i was pain free almost instantly. Now i have no problems with that, but i do suffer from compartment syndrome of the feet. Take care, Carey |
