:( My dad had his PET scan yesterday and the dr. office called today and told him he had cancer in his left hip and want to move his next appt. up to tomorrow or Friday and start treatment right away. His test also showed a swelled up lymphnoid near his left shoulder blade area. They are telling him it is treatable, but also told him he could fracture his hip so easily and not even sleep on his left side. Things we thought were looking so good and now this.
Can anyone tell me if they have had cancer in the bone? My mother in laws best friend had it 15 or so years ago and got a bone marrow transplant but didn't do good and past away. I can't remember how long she lasted.

If anyone has anything good to say I sure could use it.
So far Dad has kidney stones, gall stones, lymphomia in his kidney, hip bone and in a lymphnoid. I can't imagine it getting worst than this.......Jodi:(

I'm sorry about your Dad. I know it looks bleak but do not think the worst. Amazing things can and do happen. Just have faith and hope. Be strong.

I wish I could advise but I really have no information to help. However, keep in mind that treatments these days are much more advanced than they were 15 years ago. I am so sorry that your dad is going through this. What is his treatment going to be? I wish him well....and you too, of course.

Love,

Hi Jody,

Yes, my husband had cancer in his hip bone and also in several ribs.Don't know how old your dad is but at the time my husband was in his 60's. His diagnosis was prostate cancer and he was given about 6 months. WELL, nine years later he was still here and free of bone tumors. He had been on oral chemo drugs every day but after awhile they didn't seem to bother him and I think it was a lot milder than what these ladies and my sister go through. He did also have some surgery as well. As mcelroy states amazing things can and do happen. 11 years after his diagnosis he passed from heart problems not bone cancer.

Wishing your dad complete healing and peace of spirit. Will keep you both in my prayers.

I have little saying on my dresser that is the first thing I read every morning as soon as I get out of bed. It has gotten me through a lot of stress and worrying over the years.I will write it below.

Good Morning!
This is God
I will be handling all of
your problems today.
I do not need your help.
So have a good day.

Thank you Nana & others. It is so comforting to know others care so much. I am going to keep my faith and do alot of praying. Don't know what treatment they want to start him on yet. My father is 62 years old and as always been a go getter. We will fight this!!!!!

Thanks again & I think I will print your saying Nana and hang it on my mirror too!

Jodi
