Hi, i think all my life i had asymmetric tonsils or at least since i remember, 4 weeks ago the side of the throat in which i have the swollen tonsil star to have a burning sensation, 2 weeks ago i started to feel something in my ear in the same side... But this feelings are not constant they come and go, i have days i am fine others i have this symptoms, the burning sensation in my tonsil and throat mostly appear in the morning when i wake up, the tonsil that is bigger is also kind of white but not white kind of tonsillitis.I have seen a doctor that sayd it was normal to have a tonsil bigger than other and that my both tonsils where normal, he gave me some anti-inflammatory drugs, my tonsil doesn't get smaller but i stop feeling the burning sensation....
I am worried it might be tonsil cancer, by the way i am 19 years old i don't smoke and usually drink but not much.

Thanks in advanced.

I have just finished being treated for tonsil cancer. No one thought my one enlarged tonsil had a tumor in it, I was under the care of an ENT for two years before having my tonsils removed because the one tonsil was enlarging more. Boy was that a surprise. I had no risk factors. The tumor was stage 2, I had radiation, chemotherapy, and a feeding tube. The tumor was caused by the HPV virus. Probably you have nothing to worry about, just letting you know what happened to me. Good luck.
