I just found out that my cousin's husband, age 59 has cancer but I do not know what a 3A, 5 Centimeter Tumor means in lay language. Does anybody know what this means and how serious is it? Niki:confused:

I am in remission from stage 4 lung cancer. my largest tumor was 3.5 cm which is about the size of a quarter. 5 cm is slightly less than 2 inches. the 3A i believe has to do with the type of cells that make up the tumor..from what i have researched, there is no "laymans" terms for the designation 3A. you should ask your oncologist to explain it to you..best of luck..i had four other smaller tumors and several of my lymph nodes were also involved..they got it all with a combination of chemo and radiation, so there is always hope..don't give up the fight.
regards
