 Hello,

This is my plea to anyone out there that can or will help me!

My Son Dallas age 30 has been diagnosed with Congestive Heart failure, Diabetes, And he has fluids on his lungs. He is over weight 397 pd. at this time. He has lost 81 pounds and is continuing to lose weight by dieting,
swimming & exercising 2 - 4 hr. a day in a pool. He needs a lot of support.

He has at least 50 plus pd. of skin that is like a large apron on the front side. He needs it removed badly. He has no insurance. we have asked for state help they do not pay for this kind of operation. It is called cosmetic surgery to them we call it a heart saving situation for him he needs the weight off. the skin rubs him sore while hanging.

I thought of burn center or people who need good skin no stretch marks healthy skin and no one wants skin so I have tried other avenues and I am at a stop at this time. That's where you all come in! Please help me find a way to save my sons life. Do you know a Doctor that might give his time or know of someone or some place that would help? I beg please pass this on to every one you think could find another road to go down or someone that would help Him.

Dallas would greatly appreciate it also.
Thanks Sheila (A Loving Mother who cares)

Thank You and May God Bless You and Your Family.

Is there some local media you could ask for help? I know you see every once in a while instances where patients are helped by medical centers. I would start with a letter writing campaign to any cosmetic surgeons in your area and bring his plight to the public's attention by asking for a small article in your local newspaper or a spot on your nearest TV or Radio station. You never know when your story may be picked up nationwide in the news. Maybe a fundraiser or some generous individual or physician will see your story. Never hurts to write the talk show circuit as well. Human interest stories seem to be big there. I wish you and your son success in finding an answer to your plea.

So sorry to hear of your son's condition. Have been brain storming here, and it seems your son must have medical coverage through state medicaid that is paying for his Congestive Heart failure and diabetes treatment. A cardiologist with a bit of compassion, seems would be able to inform the state that your son's CHF would be much improved by the removal of this excess skin.

His heart is having an extreme extra burden of having to pump blood through this layer of skin. This will decrease his chance of CHF survival.

Removal of the excess skin will also improve his diabetes and overall health.

Heck, any lawyer could argue this in a court of law, as long as YOUR SON'S DOCTOR was willing to testify. This means all the difference in the world. His cardiologist being convinced, and convincing those providing medical coverage for your son, that this surgery will relieve a huge burden on your son's heart.

Goldy has some great ideas!

G-d bless and hang in there :)
