View Full Version : Bilateral Cervical Adenopathy and Thyroid Nodule

Hello everyone. I've had cystic nodules on my thyroid gland for over 7 years, and gland swelling under my jaw.

I had an updated Thyroid Ultrasound on 9/20/07. The findings were that several cystic structures are present throughout (all less than 5mm), and on the right lobe, a nonsystic hypoechoic structure is found measuring 7mmx4mm. Thyroid Gland is normal size, and hormone levels are normal.

I just had a soft tissue neck CT with with contrast on 10/17/07 to see what's going on with the swollen (lymph?) glands in my neck, and should have the results at week's end. I have an appointment to see a head and neck surgeon next Wednesday to have the solid nodule biopsied, and possibly the nodes. This is all happening so fast. Waiting is no fun. I've posted on the immune and thyroid boards, and thought I'd try this one too. Until I have a diagnosis, I guess it's hard to know which board is the right one!

Has anyone here with Lymphoma, or swollen nodes, also had nodules in the thyroid? (or does anyone have any advice for me?)

Hi all. Tomorrow is the day I see the ENT surgeon. My CT results are in. I'm nervous about my neck swelling, and even sometimes feel swollen (and painful) glands in my armpit area. Think I'll start doing yoga again, but I'm going to continue not running. Last race I ran was a 5K on September 10th, and I was so sick afterwards, I could not talk to my running partner for a half hour. I've never felt like that after a run. Usually, it's runner's high. I'm inspired by Kris Carr- I saw the trailer for Crazy Sexy Cancer. My mind is eased a great deal just having seen that. I also play Joel Osteen's "God is in Control" podcast over and over again...

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Good luck at the doctor appt. Are the nodes in your neck very large?

Yes, good luck.
I like your upbeat attitude....very inspiring.
I'm a huge fan of Joel Osteen, too.
I think I'll look for that podcast.
Thanks for the tip.
I've been wanting to start a yoga class, too. I think stretching is great for your body.

Hope your results are good. I also have nodules on my thyroid...have had them for years and was dx with lymphoma last year..in my abdomen. Not sure there was any connection though. Keep us updated, please.

Hi everyone. The ENT said the nodules are too small to biopsy, and considering they've been threre for over 7 years, the lack of growth suggests that they are benign. He wants to see me again in a year. Also, the swollen glands in my neck are not lymph nodes. I apparently have larger than average salivary glands. I am puzzled as to why my primary care physician did not know what they were (she told me they were nodes). Glad I got the nodules checked, and now I just need do more follow up to see why I have abdominal discomfort on the left side below my ribs, and why I have exercise intolerance (with running) and headaches.

Thanks for your posts, Singer78, Nassau One, and Deb. I've read many of your other threads- you are all very positive, and an inspiration to so many on this board!
