sweetea13 10-18-2007, 05:31 PM To anyone that has experience, I was wondering if you can get your nursing degree online? goldyfm 10-21-2007, 01:39 PM I have seen some ads for Nursing degrees online also, but I seriously doubt that it is conclusive for all aspects of the Nursing degree. When I attended, we had labs and clinicals (nursing home, surgery, labor and delivery, ICU, pediatrics, physical therapy, med-surg, orthopedics, home health to name a few) and group projects and film lectures that just could not be achieved online. It may be you can do the barebones of the educational process but the practical experiences would have to be accomplished in a lab or hospital setting, etc. Just my opinion. sobannon 11-05-2007, 02:28 AM You can, but beware, some states do not recognize them as valid for admission to test for icensure. Check with your states board of nursing. Amy mel1977 11-29-2007, 01:54 AM I was going to say the same as Amy. I was looking into online but when I found out some states won't take it and I 'd have to go BACK to school if I had to move to one of those states, I changed my mind quickly. YOu still have to get all the pre-recs. I know folks who have gotten theirs online and they liked them. I think it depends on what works best for you! Can't hurt to do some research on it. You may know you''ll NEVER move to CA, but then again......I think at some point all states will have to take it as soon as the shortage gets worse, there are less schools and less teachers to teach!!!! |
