Hi,
I am scheduled soon for colon resection. I am 60, but have been active with jogging, sports and going to gym for weight lifting on a regular basis for 25 years. I see that people do talk about return to work and eating more freely after this surgery. I am wondering if you feel that you ever return to 100% of your pre surgery physical condition and would I be able to pick up my regular physical activities that I had before. Maybe you never recover 100% from any surgery once you are 60 years old. I don't know and would appreciate you sharing your experience if and how long the total physical recovery takes. I know about not lifting heavy weight (5 lbs. ?) for a time. Can the colon connection or stitches tear or separate after it is healed? Would that be a permanent weak spot in your colon?
