I recently got tested for all of my STD's and everything came back negative. However, my HSV1 & 2 antibodies were present but negative. I am confused because, I was told I do not have the herpes virus, but may have been exposed to hsv 1 for example. I have had continued itching in my vaginal area and a cut. Also, I have very thick white and/or sticky, thick yellow discharge; no odor. Also, on my inner thigh area are very dark spots almost like ezema looking...which itches a lot, as a result of me scratching so bad I now have cuts in this are of my inner thigh and buttock area..could I have herpes.

Go back to your doctor and have her/him swab and culture these areas.

You may have herpes, and you may not. Sadly, many doctors are so uninformed about the virus that they give their patients conflicting/confusing information... like "my HSV1 & 2 antibodies were present but negative. I am confused because, I was told I do not have the herpes virus, but may have been exposed to hsv 1 for example."
As California says, go back and get the sores swabbed. You must do this quickly - while the virus is still active in the sores (before they start to heal), so get to a doctor ASAP. Ask for the HerpesSelect test, as it appears to be the most accurate test used in the States.
