Hi everyone. My DS has had a viral infection since last Wednesday. 8 days so far. All that he has really had for the last 7 days is ALOT of poop. I mean every diper change it is poop. At least 12 diapers a day. Most times it is not alot of poop but it is still there. I was just wondering how much longer will this go on? My poor man has now developed a diaper rash because of using so many wipes, so now we are just using a wash cloth and water. He has no other symptoms of a viral infection only the pooping thing. He is suppose to go to the doc on Thursday but should I go in on Monday if this is still happening? He is still eating fine, a little fussy here and there but I would be too with all the stuff coming out of him. Thanks Sherri :)

Has the doctor said it was a virus? Is it like diarrhea or just poop? If he's not acting sick and it's not diarrhea I'd probably just wait it out until the appt.

Yeah last week the doc said itwas a viral infection. See I really don't know if it is diarreha. He is exclusivly breastfed. So his poops are always wet. But right now they are many different colours. It is not his yellow seedy poop they always have a bit of green in them. If not really green. And they are every diaper change. Thanks again Sherri. :)

Use a cream with a high concentration of zinc oxide in it for the butt rash. My DS got a HORRIBLE rash when he was in the ICU for 10 days, but the zinc oxide paste cleared it right up. We started changing him very frequently, used baby oil to clean him and then used a huge glob of the butt paste smeared right on the affected area. It works way better than the petroleum based ointments.
