Yesterday I had a sinus CT scan and I had to lie on my stomach with my head back. My chin was resting on this thing. oy. I knew as I was lying there I would get all flared up with those plates and screws right there in a horrible position. A week ago I also had to get a endoscope up my nose. Again....HEAD BACK. Those are the things I am noticing are rough after a fusion! I notice this worse than head forward.

I had a sinus CT before my ACDF & remember how terrible that position felt with the head bent back like that - never thought about what it would be like afterward with hardware in there. Thanks for the 'heads up!" ;) Definitely something to consider.

Sinus problems are awful - hope you feel better soon.

I totally understand and I'm so sorry to hear about the pain you're experiencing.

What I've been pondering is, how we are supposed to get our hair done? The hair salon sinks are like torture devices in themselves (for someone with a strong and healthy neck). But, at this point I can't imagine having an appointment with my stylist.

I had my hair cut and styled right before my surgery and felt it for days after in the form of spasms, migraines, arm numbness and intensified pain.

Now, I'm at the point of growing my hair out and I wear it up when I go out. My husband likes it longer anyway, but eventually I will have to at least have the ends trimmed.

I know this sounds trivial compared to what your going through. But, how are us women supposed to deal with our hair (without risking additional injury). Those sinks are so non-conducive for people with neck injuries and I can actually see the sinks furthering injuries.

It's just interesting to me how many challenges we face that we don't even think about.

Thanks for the information on the sinus CT Scans and I hope you get relief from your sinus issues soon.

What I do when I get my hair cut is kneel over the sink facing the sink. Its better than the other way. I usually wash it before I go there to expedite things.

I go to a salon with adjustable chair which holds your head up just right!
