My very best friend in all the world has been advised that his liver is swollen and beyond repair, the only treatment they can offer him is pain relief management, they are still looking for the original source of the cancer. How long will he be with me and what can I do to help him. He is very brave and not afraid to talk about anything.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I would say always stay positive & be encouraging. Only God knows how long. My 4 yr. old daughter was diagnoised in May 2006 with liver cancer that went to her lungs. Stage 4. They didn't think she was going to make it. She had surgery & 6 months of chemo & today she is 10 months off of treatment. Dr.'s still say only about 40% chance of survival. We just enjoy each & every day with her & cherish EVERY moment. We take NOTHING for granted anymore. We always stayed positive around her, never broke down crying in front of her. I think that helped. I will keep you & your friend in my prayers. Good luck & God bless.
