Hey all,
Its been awhile since I posted and things were going so darn well until yesterday. I was on the couch watching TV got up to get some water to drink and whammo...off goes the heartrate over 200. So I sat down, took my atenolol and a xanax and proceeded to try and stop them with deep breaths and "bearing down". After an hour, my boyfriend took me to the ER since they had not subsided. By the time I was hooked up to an EKG, the SVT has subsided. The ER still did all the blood tests and kept me there for 4 hours. They ended up also doing a chest Xray, and CT Scan on my lungs and ultrasound on my legs. One of the blood tests said that I may have had a blood clot, but they found nothing. Supposidly, my levels of this test were 176 and 170 was high. Also my potassium was low and my sugar was high. Both the Scan and the ultrasound came up negative and I was sent home.
About an hour before this I hate pancakes at IHOP with sweet Tea and I am sure that is what caused the blood sugar to be high. The doctor was convinced I was diabetic because of my weight. I love it when they assume such things, but I have never been diagnosed as diabetic and have been tested many MANY times.
I have an appt already set with my cardio in a week and a half and they want me to try and move it up. Work has been extremely stressful lately and I also been interviewing for a new job. Also, after a mammogram and ultrasound on my breast that came up clear, my OB wants me to see a surgeon for a lump. So, am I stressed? oh YES!
So, what do you all think? Was it the high sugar and low potassium? or the stress. I have a crappy boss who constantly makes smart cracks when I am out sick and also crappy insurance to go along with it. My commute is bad also. I just hope to find a new job soon. Something's got to change.
Thanks again for listening and all your advice,
lyl
