Hey all
I have been battling allergies for the past 14 months when I came into contact with a very well known allergist in Canada. Anyways he told me to have lots of vitamin b (it increases the strength of the membranes in the nose). I started last week and my allergies are 90% better.
Vitamin B rich foods are also usually very high in fibre. I have been getting mild to painful stomach cramps after having bran cereal, sunflower seeds, etc...
Is this just because my body is not used to the fibre intake, or is it a necisarry evil I need to accept?

Your intestinal distress is a result of unaccustomed amounts of fiber. You might want to cut back for a while and slowly increase the amount of fiber in your diet. Your body will get used to it over time.

I agree... my stomach is sensitive and too much fiber upsets it. The same things you said... sunflower seeds, wheat cereals... they tend to bother me so I eat much less of them.

You can get plenty of vitamin B from less fibrous foods, such as fish and seafood, poultry and meats, eggs, dairy products,leafy green vegetables and oats (which are very fibrous but seem to sit easier in my stomach than things like bran and wheat)
