I am on Nexium and Carafate which help neutralize acid but my main problem is the acid is still refluxing into my lungs. I know one of my issues is my sphincters are not working properly. Other than that I am not sure what else could be causing it.

I am one of the weird ones who do not have a cough associated with my acid reflux. I just get really short of breath and my chest gets tight. It almost feels like my lungs are constricted. I can feel the warmth in my esophagus and my stomach will hurt but that is about it. My throat always feels swollen and the reason I no longer feel the burn is because it's been going on for so long. My GI said once the pain happens for that long you become numb to it.

Does anyone else have this and do you know how to fix this?

THANKS!

I would love to know the answer to your question! My symptoms are all LPR and I have not found relief yet ( 6 months). I wish I could help you but I just wanted to let you know you are not alone.

Hang in there.

My doctor told me the same thing, maybe I'm just numb to it. But that doesn't seem like it's right to me, when I get the acid (and I know when I'm getting it) my throat really hurts, when I don't my throat doesn't hurt.
