i use advent and love them, and im currently using the slow flow nipple (1) however, the next size nipples are so expensive to go and replace all of them. anyone know if you can poke an extra hole to get longer use out of them??? please let me know about your experiences or knowledge on this question! thankyou

I'll admit it...I've done it, and it works just fine. I would make sure to boil the nipples after doing so and be careful you don't make the hole too big. It could be a real mess!

I think I used a super sharp safety pin from my mom. Be careful how far you puncture or the hole will get too big.

To be honest I don't think you should. The hole that is in a nipple has the edge that is reinforced. I think if you were to poke holes or make the hole bigger in the nipple it could rip and become a choking hazard.:( Sorry

i did it with my first baby's bottles because i always put cereal in her bottle. we used a sharp knife and just kind of knicked the edges of the hole a little at a time until we thought it was big enough. but don't get crazy with it or you'll get a hole too big and yeah, that's messy! :)
