View Full Version : Arterial Thrombosis? - Very worried about my Mum.

I'll try to be short.
I have moved to another country so I only see my Mum once or twice a year. She started having pain in both her calves about 4 years ago, especially when walking. Over the years it was getting worse and Drs said it was a DVT but as far as I know, she hadn't taken any medicines or anything to cure that. My Mum said to me she was not going to go to see Doctors and she can live with it. She has always been terriffied of hospitals.

Today she ended up in hospital, according to my brother, she couldn't even walk around her house any more. They put her into hospital where apparently they will be thinning her blood. She has been told that she has really bad thrombosis in arteries of both legs, that they will be performing a surgery and that it would be a dangerous one, we have been warned to expect the worst. I am really scared and worried. I am very confused as well, - how did they let her end up like that? What is the worst I should expect? I don't know much about these things.

Please, if someone can, explain it to me. I'm going out of my mind. She is so far away from me and I feel I don't know what's happenning. Please, advice me....

Sflower - I'm sorry your mum is having such problems. I see it has been a while since you posted this. I hope her surgery went well. I know it is difficult to be away from those you love, especially at times like this.

~Saying a prayer for you & your mum.

Thank you for your reply!
She is still waiting for a consultation with Doctors. She is in a lot of pain and her legs have swollen up... Everything happens very slow there.
