Hi,
I'm new here:) Since I was 19 yrs old, I am 34 now. I have felt my heart beat very fast at times. I saw a doctor at Stanford. There is a cure but I decided to take Meds. I take Metoprorol 50mg. I have been feeling good but now I feel my heart skipping beats more often:( After I eat something. I really need to watch the salt intake. Does anybody feel this way?

Hi,
Yes, I absolutely understand what you are saying. Food is for me, and has always been a huge factor in triggering ectopics. I have no heart disease, but have had arrythmia for 14 years now. What I eat, when I eat, how hot the food is, so many issues. I eat little and often; I avoid fish like salmon and too much meat, hot soup is a trigger, sugar, icecream ( sugary), all but the blandest drinks, absolutely no caffeine or alcohol. They say you wont live longer, but god it feels like it !!!!! Nothing after 7pm. And I can honestly say I can manage reasonably well. I take sotalol, 2 years now, and it works for me. I started a diary for a few weeks and charted my fluid'food intake and the results enabled me to decide on a routine. Only you will know what is appropriate for you.
Very best wishes and good luck.
Julie.

We may very well be twins! With the things you just described as your "triggers." I have to pace myself with any food. I steer from sugar and caffeine like the plague. IF I over eat, I will be having PVC's like crazy for hrs. . It makes me have to just lay down, and elevate my feet. I know, probably doesn't help some, but I do feel it does a tad.
