So ive been researching birth control ofr awhile now and out of the literally 40+ types i have looked at Seasonique seems to be the least harmful to my life and schedule... anyone has any experience with it?
let me explain first that i know you get your period only 4 times a year - but as a person whose peeriod is 11 days on average, that is like a god send! i have heard that it causes water weight - is it a really bad gain? do diruetucs help? also breast growth and tenderness but im not worried about that...
also - my roomie is on a different BCP now that is making her cramp up and depressed and eat like a fiend... anyone experience this with Seasonique? any other problems i should know about?
im going to go to my doctor soon about this so any info would be greatly appreciated!

been on it for 3 packs.. it's fine doesnt make me do anything bad. I was hospitalized cuz of yasmin once. (it made me have diarrhea one day so bad that I got totally dehydrated...ended up passing out in the shower.) Im one of those that have been on like 10 different kinda before lol cuz I get so depressed.. but seasonique doesnt do anything like that for me. I love it ! but recently my boyfriend of three years broke up with me so Im going off it at the end of this pack...

i'm in my fifth month of seasonique. i love the fewer periods.. but i do get really bad mood swings. but i feel like that might vary person to person cuz i've heard of other people using seasonique that have no problem...

I had some trouble during the first pack -- no nausea or anything, but after about 6 weeks I had BAD mood swings...crying, irritation, anxiety. Once I realized it was the Seasonique I was able to better control it. Also, there was some spotting after sex occasionally.
When I had my first period it lasted about 6 days, no heavier than when I was on Demulen. Cramps were a little bit longer-lasting...three days instead of two.
Second pack I have had NO problems (except for a little breast tenderness), and I love it! Make sure you take it at the same time every day.
Now my only complaint is that I get paranoid and think I'm knocked up! ;)

I was on Seasonale, which is pretty much like the same thing, and I had the most severe mood swings ever. I personally don't think it's a great choice, but if you want to give it a try, see what you think. Just make sure you keep track of how you're feeling and if you start having problems, don't stay on it.

I've been on Seasonique for a month so far. I was interested in mirena (the inserted type that lasts 5 years), but she put me on this until i could figure out if my insurance would cover it. i did some research and found a bunch of articles and blogs about the bad side effects of mirena and after more digging found that the hormone in mirena is the same as seasonique. i have felt very strange since being on it. I'm incredibly irritable, to the point of being angry for no reason. Lately i have been feeling dizzy and nauseus (like i have water in my head sloshing around) and have had some severe headaches. I'm wondering now if it has to do with seasonique after reading up on the side effects. i'm starting to think that it's probably not good to interrupt your body's normal menstrual cycle so much by having fewer periods. I'm going to switch to one that keeps me on my regular period and hopefully i'll feel better:(.
