So I've been really considering coming off of BCPs and getting the IUD Paragard. This seems to be non-hormonal, correct? That would be amazing. I hate all the nasty side effects from the hormones of BCPs.
Does anyone recommend or not recommend Paragard? Are they painful or come with any negative side effects?
Any responses would be greatly appreciated! :D

I did some research. For some they love it some say the cramping is horrible. Some say that after three months the cramping and pain subsides.

I know everyone is different but for me, the cramping wasn't horrible it was just a little more intense than normal; same with bleeding-just a little heavier.
I have had 2 Paragards so far. I had my last one removed in April bc we were trying to have a baby. I am due in February and I will be getting another one.

I have had one for a little more than 3 months. Even though 10+ years ago, I had pretty bad cramps, now I have had very minimal cramps on the paragard. Also, my bleeding is not particularly heavy or long (5 days). But then I did not have heavy periods before.
