I have arthritis in the big toe joint. I am told that the surgery I need is similar to a bunionectomy, as the arthritis affects the big toe joint and presents a deformity similar to bunion.
Where can women find WIDE width shoes , dress shoes and low heeled pumps to wear?
My foot is short and wide,,, all my life I had this one aunt who considered herself a shoe expert. She bought me shoes as I was growing up,, ALWAYS bought 7.5 narrow. ANd I wear a 6.5 wide!!!!
Those shoes always hurt my feet, but she insisted that I wore my shoes tooooo short! SO she insisted on the 'elf shoes' ! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif
Yep,, when you have a wide foot, even a 9.5 narrow fits snug!! Sine I have grown up, she has even insisted that I wear some of her old boots- yes 9.5 narrow! I promptly hid them away..
Where can I find wide shoes ? I have searched the net repeatedly...

Boy, do I know how you feel! I have the same problem only a tougher problem. I have to have a X wide in a "slip-resistant" work shoe. I found loads of wide width shoes on the internet. Go to a search engine (google) type in Wide width shoes, you can also add Men or women. Mason shoes come in narrow to EEEE widths. SAS makes a wide shoe also. Look for something with a deep toe box. You can also ask your local podiatrist. Good luck on your shoe search
