Hi all,

For the past 3 years, I have been experiencing dull, yet constant, headaches at the back/top of my head (about the same spot that a baby's soft spot is located). Its something that I experience everyday, and at this point Im not sure what to do anymore.

The pain is dull, but it feels like there is constant pressure on the back of my head. The only thing I can compare it to is the feeling that you get if you turn upside down and the blood rushes to your head. I am 22 years old, and a university student. I get stressed often, however, it seems as though anytime I even think about something in any detail, I start to get a headache (even when school is out). The pain gets worse if I try to lay down. Although sometimes, if I rub the back of my head, the pain gets better.
Has anyone experienced someting like this, and know of any way to help? Thanks alot!

Couple things to think about...

The postures (forward head) of students can often created shortening of upper cervical muscles. These 'occipital' muscles can play a role in headaches.

Secondly, the first few vertebre of the neck have been shown to cause "cervicogenic" headaches if mobility is not normal.

I would advise a visit to your doc, asking for a referral to a physical therapist.
