kaykay8018 10-24-2007, 11:38 AM why do i have a headache for a week with fever Sponsor jahdac821 10-24-2007, 11:45 AM okay, are they migraines, or just simple headaches? have you tried tylenol, and extra strengths and maybe even Goody powders to get rid of them? Do you drink sodas or are you dehydrated. Lots of things can cause headaches. Many things you eat can take part in causing headaches as well. Too much sugar or salt, you may be allergic to MSG, food dyes, etc. Fill me in. kaykay8018 10-24-2007, 12:01 PM i have tried every pain reliever i can think of. right now i have cephadyn that i'm suppost to take 2 times a day. it's not a migraine but it's not a normal headache. i went to the doctor yesterday and he said it might be a migraine but it should go away within a day or two with this med. he said if it doesn't then i will need a ct scan. But i dont drink sodas much... maybe once a month. i'm not dehydrated. i'm not allergic to anything that i know of. so i just dont know what it is. i've had maybe 2 headaches in my lifetime and they went away with only one advil. i guess i'm also wondering why my doctor would even suggest a ct scan... jahdac821 10-27-2007, 02:18 PM Okay, let me know how you feel after the medicine. The ct scan won't be bad. Have you ever had one? Hmm.. let me know it's going. kaykay8018 10-27-2007, 08:07 PM The meds haven't helped and the doc changed the ct scan to an MRI. I had it on friday, so we'll get the results on monday. It just really seems that the headache is much much worse than it has been...No, I've never had an MRI until friday. but never had an ct scan. I'll try to keep you updated with anything else that happens. Quanto 11-05-2007, 12:23 AM I am today on day 49 of my headache, without meds it's always there. A couple weeks ago the reg. doc gave me percocet. That worked very well once I figured out the timing. Then the Neurologist took me off it, he said narcotics aren't good for headache's. Thats easy to say when your not living with it(I've been struggling to work 40 hrs in a week). So far I have had a CT, CTA, and a MRI none of which have shown anything. All blood tests are normal as well. They have run me though the gamut of migraine meds. I've become a regular at my local target pharmacy, for a bunch of crap that hasn't worked. I'll keep an eye one this thread if your docs figure something out post it here please. I will reciprocate. Also the neuro has me on topamax, it's not really helping my head but have been getting a lot of the awful side effects from that drug. sharrose 12-12-2007, 12:24 AM Have you been on Elavil yet? I have had some relief from chronic daily headache...Mine never, ever went away..... Ive been on Elavil for 30+ days...25 mg 15 mins before sleep along with a mild muscle relaxer. It took a few weeks but I noticed that I am sleeping better, and my daily headache (if I have one) is controllable with otc meds and an occasional fiorinal & Zomig. I've been going thru this a long time now... My dr has tried many things and this is the first thing in years that has helped at all. I hope you get some relief soon. |
