Over the last 6-8 months I have been experiencing many symptoms that have made me quite unwell. I have been on a frustrating medical journey to nowhere. I had a 2cm node removed from my groin in August and biopsy was negative. However, symptoms have persisted and over the last week or less the swollen nodes that have been present in my neck through all this are now larger and even more have popped up. They are not scary big, but definitely growing. I have not had a virus or a cold or anything else that might make them swell. Here is my question. Because one node was negative does that mean that you definitely do not have a lymphoma? Can one enlarged node tell the whole tale?

spp321,
I am so sorry for all of this. No question you have is silly!!!!! I would go back to the doctors and demand another biopsy of a neck node. It is not good for them to be growing. What other symptoms are you experiencing?

Thanks Deb. I have an appt with a new PCP on 11/2. This has been a hellish journey. I started with unexplainable fatigue when using big muscles such as my quads, and get very winded when I do things such as climb stairs. This is sudden after having been an athlete for 17 years. A BIG change for me. I also feel a general feeling of malaise quite often, have little physical motivation, decreased sex drive and irritability. While I was going through cardiac and pulmonary workups in the early summer, I discovered swollen nodes in my neck and clavicle. I then discovered a large one in my groin. I was referred to a surgeon who took the node in my groin out and the biopsy was negative. Through all this I completely lost confidence in my primary care doc who just cannnot think outside the box. So, I am seeing a new PCP next Friday. After the negative biopsy I started to explore other avenues. meanwhile, I started having horrible nausea and back pain when I eat. So I am scheduled to see a gastroenterologist on 11/7 and an endocrinologist on 11/29. However, with these neck nodes getting bigger and multiplying (which is very newly noticed by me) I am wondering about lymphoma again. I know there is something wrong and I feel like I am alone in my corner trying to sort it all out. I am hoping that this new doc with be better than the last one at looking at the whole picture instead of one little piece at a time and never splicing the symptoms together to see a pattern. It is soooo frustrating because docs seem like they are trying to tag you as crazy! Anyway, thanks for your support. So you think if the groin node was negative others could still be positive?

I know what you mean. Anything wrong and they want to tag you as needing antidepressents. We know our bodies and when things are not right. Are we not paying them to figure it out?
I hope this all gets resolved for you. The worse is not knowing but knowing there is a problem.
I am also very athletic and it would be an indicator that something was wrong if I could not lift weights or run anymore.
Please keep me posted on the new doc and appt.
Take care!
Deb ;)
