Hello all i am having a problem with my ankles and feet
on both of my ankles on the outside i have round dry circle patches just on the ankle it is worse on the right than the left. nothing rubs there to make a mark or anything i have asked the dr but they just ignore it becouse it does not hurt. i am worried becouse i have heard about diabetes and sores but this isnt a sore it is just a round (abt the size of a half dollar) dry spot that doesnt go away ????? any clues as to what it might be ???

anna58222,

i use to have dry spots just right in front of my ankle area - i used to think maybe that it was a little bit of excess skin, but it's gone from the dry, dark discoloration to a more normal color and texture. i used vasoline (or bag balm...whichever i had around) on my feet at night, making sure to cover the dry spots. slip on some socks and go to bed. be careful when you wash your feet in the tub the next morning - can be slippery wth all that stuff on your feet. do this for a few weeks. after some time (i have no clue how long) i just noticed that that dry, dark excess skin had changed to normal looking skin (i think it looked like extra skin 'cause it was dark and i could pinch it more than other areas)

hope that helps you clear your dry spots. good luck.
