oxycodon isn't this a very dangerous drug
I have two freinds in my apartment that
I am positive they are over dosing and are
killing themselves, but the doctors keep
upping the prescriptions.

they are having a lot of anger and planning
their deaths, feeling they are going to die.
what is the matter with the medical pros
today, I know if I could convince them to
eat better and start biting the bullit as they
say they could come out of this addiction

Opiate addiction is a very strong addiction and the worst part about it is even if your friends wanted to stop they would have such bad withdraws from it (from the sounds of how much they take) that alone would push them back to using it. Do they have chronic pain that they are taking this for or have they just told a doctor they had pain to get these meds. If I had a little more info I could probably offer you a little better advice. Good Luck. JoJo

Yes my friend takes oxycodan for a neck injury, but I think she is
somewhat over the injury pain and is suffering more from the pain
of oxycodan when she tries to cut back,
I also feel the doctors do not ever offer her any other help such as
nutrition, massage, walking, swimming or whatever could help get
her off the drug. She goes to the university of washington doctors
and they are still students , continually giving drugs instead of
healthful suggestions.

I am 84 years old and have to eat and take care of myself everyday
to stay healthy, I do not take drugs, but I had in the past until I
found out they were making me worse.

my background is 5 years in pharmacy work, and 1 year as a nurse
for a urologist and an internist. also many years of professional
jobs.

I have seen more people addicted by doctors than I can count.
This country is just making the pharmaceutical companies rich.

thanks for the oxycodan info, I suspected as much that she is
never going to be able to get off it without much help

she really does need to be seen at an actual pain clinic for her pain management.she could really be suffering from her neck injury, trust me on that one.once that area becomes injured it can create liflong pain and neuro problems as well.this is where i am at right now.but i am also and was a recoverd addict when my spinal cord became injured and after many many years of clean time, kind of had no choice in having to go back onto narcotics just becasue the pain was soo completly intollerable.BUT i am doing this thru a pain clinic that also offers other modalities to manage my ongoing pain.this is a very strict gudeline way of me being able to do this.at an actual PM clinic, you have to sign a narcotic contract and also adhere to suprise UAs and pill counts.this is the only realistic way that i can do this.i have thankfully had no problems with compliane now since i satrted back this crap in 03.i am grateful for my PM.they can just do soo much more for a pain patient than any other type of docs.clinic possibly can.i am also on longer acting oxycontin which honestly is nothing like the feeling you obtain from the shorter acting meds that release their full contents all at one time.i don;t even 'feel' the releases except i feel relief in my c spine first.thats when i know it has released for me.just relief,no 'head" crap like with percocet.

from what you described, this woman is in a huge crisis right now if she is actually planning her death in some way??could be severe depression or also addiction run amuck.addiction is more a set of behaviors.sometimes when pain is not managed properly it can result in those same types of behaviors too,so its kind of hard to really know sometimes.but really talking with her may help to identify whats really going on.but she does need some help here, really.this doesn't sound like a good situation at all.marcia
