Nexis 10-25-2007, 06:52 AM No matter how much I sleep, I am very tired.
Today I slept from 6pm until the next day til 2pm - 20 hours. This has been going on for many decades.
I have no underlining conditions and I talk to the doctors about this yet since my blood tests are all negative they say its just stress.
I am lost what to do.
MAD MAZ 10-25-2007, 01:07 PM You need to get your thyroid tested, If you have already get it done again ask what your is and your Free T4 and Free T3 is with level and ranges and post them on her and I will have a look for you.
If not put them on the thyroid board they are very good on there... your doctor can be saying that your thyroid is OK when it could be falling...Mandy
Nexis 10-25-2007, 02:41 PM I had my thyroid tested by three doctors and all said it was fine.

I have problems with my thyroid and can sleep for a long time. You not only need to have your thyroid tested but also your Free T3 and T4 levels. Some doctors do blood work that test only the Thyroid function but they don't test the glands which are responsible for making the Thryoid function. Your thyroid could be coming up as fine but the glands that support it may have problems. It should be done automatically but it isn't.
Nexis 10-27-2007, 12:13 PM I had the Free 3 and 4 done as well as TSH. No problem.
I also had the AntibodyTest for Hashimoto's. All Negative.
For a long time I thought it was my thyroid, yet I had all the thyroid test done. My doctors said its not my thyroid.

Do Epstein Barr and Chronic Fatigue always go together? Is it possible that you have the antibodies to Epstein Barr also?
Nexis 10-28-2007, 07:04 PM What is the exact testing for the Epstein Barr? Or what is the name of the testing?
I had about four pages of blood work done two months ago, with the ANA, and CRP and many other tests yet they all came back normal.
My doctor said he can give me any test, yet I need to let him know the exact name of the test.

You would want to know if you have the antibodies to EBV. I believe the name of the test is Monospot for Epstein Barr.
maebelle 10-29-2007, 08:30 PM There are several different reasons that could be the cause. Many have been suggested here.Usually blood tests will reveal iron, vitamin defiencies, certain types of cancer and numerous other aliments.
However several are not revealed by blood tests.Sleep apnea, fibromyalgia,
and severe depression are just a few.
I am curious about your age, lifestyle, work etc....
When I was in my early 20's I could sleep 15...16 hours easy.Ask your DR
about these issues and be persistant.MB
Nexis 10-30-2007, 09:37 AM I have seen so many doctors and all of my four page blood test report is perfect!
I had two sleep test done and came out perfect.
I even had a Narcolepsy gene testing done. It came out negative.
My primary doctor is a famous endo and cancer research and university professor. He told me blood test are perfect and nothing is showing up.
He's lost for what testing to give me. He believes me, yet he can't give me any treatment because all the tests are negative.
No anemia.
NOTHING.
Yesterday, I was so dizzy I almost blacked out, and my knees were burning, and the left side of my entire back was hurting so bad that I felt nauseous.
Then today, its like it never happened, yet it comes and goes.
All of my ANA tests are Negative.
I am very atheltic and dont drink or smoke.

It sounds like you might need a neurological evaluation. Maybe your doctor can suggest a good Neurologist?

Frodoh 12-16-2007, 02:57 PM I was wondering if it was possible that you are simply deconditioned
I believe spending that much time laying down will cause autonomic problems.
Also, how is your appetite? Are you very thin? What is your blood pressure?
be well

I am very athletic ( I scare most men away!) haha.
My blood pressure is normal, and I have an appetite like a man.
No one can believe me how tired I am because I look so fit...
Any idea what it is?
