View Full Version : Tongue feels odd

Has anybody had any problems where their tongue doesn't feel right? It seems to happen when I eat candy or something with high sugar content (like juice). A day or two later my tongue really feels different. I originally thought it was acid from the reflux but if I don't eat any high sugar candy or juice my tongue is fine. Really wierd.

My first thought would be candida. Have you been tested for this in the past?

No, I've never been tested for that. Not sure any doctor would even test for that or what kind of test they would take. Though it would make sense since my stomach problems and acid reflux started after taking big doses of antibiotics. Though you would think after a year and a half it would be gone by now. I take probiotics and alot of fiber and eat pretty well.

The problem with candida is that its really hard to get rid of, even if you're eating well and taking the probiotics. You can get either a blood test or urinalysis to test for candida. The method will depend on the dr. The treatment will also depend on the dr.

Some will throw meds at you and hope for the best. Others will put you on a strict diet (yes another one) that eliminates all carbs (and I mean ALL carbs) and fermented products. Basically what this one does is deny the candida the fuel it needs.

There's a ton of info on line and its definitely worth looking into. Really depends on just how far you're willing to go to get rid of the problem.

Something else I forgot to mention, make sure the probiotics you're taking aren't dairy based.

I went to a natural docter who tested me for candita and my yeast came back very high. I am on probiticts now and a drink to get rid of the bad stuff in my body. I am eating some carbs but they are gluten free so they are mostly made of rice. i only eat gluten free food also. I am now doing thiscandita for one week hopefully something will help. My syptoms are really bad. Breathing, tight chest and pain, tight throat, dizzy, pressure in head and a pounding in my left ear.
