(MIRP) Surgery done in ct.
Hi i can use any help i can get. I am trying to help my mother. She's been diagnosed with parathyroid and has to do a surgery on november 7, 2007. Surgery will be done by Dr. Robert Piorkowski. I don't know much about him, but he says that the surgery will take up to 4 hours and the opening on her neck is going to be pretty big, since he has to research all four nudles. I am wondering if anyone knows any Doctor in Connecticut that does Minimally Invasive Radioguided Parathyroid (MIRP) Surgery. I have read a lot about it at parathyroid.com by Dr.Norman. Will be glad to know if anyone in ct can do the same job. Our English isn’t that good so we are having some trouble with communications.

Hi dinge: Do you live near Yale Univ Medical Center? They have the MIRP procedure there if you are interested. If you go to there web site or call them you could get info and a list of names for surgeons that perform this. If you don't live near that hospital, is there another University Med Center near you? If so they usually have that procedure available at all of these types of hospitals.
Good luck... I hope you can find someone to do this for you nearby. Sorry I don't know anything about the surgeon you mentioned, but others here have had it done down in Florida, maybe they will post about their experiences.
