hi, my husband's feet itch so bad that he scratches until they almost bleed. he gets cracks in between his toes that hurt and his toe nails on his little toes are almost gone. he went to the dr. with it and they told him it was a fungus under the skin and to soak them in bleach water, it didn't help. it's not athletes foot either. oh, he also gets blisters under the skin which is what itches the most.

has anyone heard of this happening and could you let me know what might help?

You might want to try soaking in apple cider vinegar in the water, I've heard that helps. I also get a blister type thing under the skin on the bottom of my foot below the big toe. The only thing that relieves it is to let the fluid out and apply iodine. It keeps coming back days or weeks later. I would love to know what it is.

My husband had something similar several years ago and a friend's husband had it recurring. Dermatologists told both that it was a "skin disorder--probably fungal". Does your husband wear athletic socks (white) that you are bleaching? It is interesting that they told him to put his feet in bleach water because the dermatologist told both of them NOT to come in contact with bleach and to "double rinse" their socks with a cup of vinegar added to the second rinse. This helped tremendously. Also, use some plain powders (like Gold Bond) in your shoes, but you also have to be careful about wearing the same shoes all the time, especially if your feet sweat. He also needs to not walk around without socks at home. My husband would wake me up at night scratching his feet because they itched so bad. Hope this helps some. Good luck.

Thank you for your replys. It sounds like maybe some kind of vinager might help and I will make him try it. He does wear white tube socks most of the time. He has to wear steal toe boots to work. I will try your suggestions. Thank you.

My baby girl (23 months) has this same problem. She has exzema as well and the dr. thought the foot problem was fungal and prescribed Lotrimin cream. It didn't seem to help at all. I thought it may be the chemicals in our new carpet that was irritating her feet so I try to keep socks on her, but she's always taking them off to scratch. Maybe I'll try the vinagar soak on her as well. Any other suggestions??
Thank you.

I found out its a skin fungus. Get some clotrimazole anti-fungal cream and rub it in the itching area 2 times a day. It cleared my right up. You have to do this for a long time but it will be worth it.

I am also having a problem with itchy feet. I have red bumps on my toes and I was told that it is a fungus. Does anyone know what causes this. I have been using Lamisil which doesnt seem to be helping.
