View Full Version : Can't keep my polish on

I can't keep my finger nail polish on and I blame it on my oil baths. I take these baths for my dry skin. If i'm going some where special I wipe my nails with polish remover after my bath and apply several coats of clear polish. This usually peels off in one piece several hours later. I am so disappointed that I can't even get 1 day out of my polish application. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try a different brand. I like Maybelline.

Yeah, what kind of nail polish are you using? I tried one that was supposed to last longer because it had Lycra in it (I forgot the brand) and it would peel off.... but on me Sally Hansen's diamond strength works pretty good and so does OPI. I usually buy these brands. Also, have you tried applying a top coat? It might help it last longer. I also recently switched to using pure acetone as my polish remover.... any others were making my nails stained yellow. Acetone IS stronger but it's quicker so it has not damaged my nails or anything. They were actually looking worse from regular polish remover that was acetone free.

I like Rimmel's wear 10. It's supposed to last for 10 days. I don't think it lasts quite that long without peeling any when I am doing alot of dishes and housework, etc. But it does stay on well. They don't have too many colors to chose from though.
