Your title caught my attention. My burping has finally stopped, but the gas and blotting is awful. My husband may divorce me before it's all over. LOL. I am just a little thing, weigh about 105 lbs. No one would ever imagine the gas that is coming from me.

Any suggestions? I am on Protonix.

OMG Welcome to "My World" (unfortunately) I am in the middle of having many many tests. I feel absolutely fine in the morning when I wake up. As soon as I put ANYTHING in my stomach, within minutes, I get a right sides pain under my rib cage. Bloating........belching & a squeezing gnawing pain...sometimes feels like a heart beat in there. Goes to my shoulders & even sometimes down near kidney area. I get very very very itch and almost scratch my face and head to shreds. It calms down within a couple of hours. Fiber cereal will surely throw me into one of these attacks big time. Had a piece of cake at work with great icing, I thought I was going to die. If I eat an actual light meal, I will almost immediately start burping up "food" (I know....very disgusting) I have this every single day. I have lost about 10 lbs because I'm afraid to eat anything. If I eat and I induce vomiting, I can get rid of the pain. I have had an Endoscopy, cat scan, MRI/MRU & an Ultrasound....all of which came out perfectly normal. My blood tests show a slightly elevated amylase & hdl but that's about it. I'm ready to throw in the towel. I feel so poor that I it's scaring me. This has been going on for about 6 weeks now. I have a rash on the nape of my neck (don't know if this is part of it or not) When I have a BM, there's an "oil slick" in the bowl. What is going on with me??????? I am a young 59 year old female in otherwise very good health. Does any one have any ideas. I'm scheduled to see "Gastro-Man" next week. I'm at wits end. Pleeeeeeeeeeze help!!!:( :(

Hi,

I was reading about gallbladder issues this morning in a book about blended medicine.
Gallbladder stores bile, the fluid that aids in the digestion of fats. Bile is composed of a mixture of things, mostly cholesterol and bile acids. As the food leaves the stomach, the gallbladder contracts and squirts the bile into small intestine.
Symptoms of gallstones shortly after eating: pain in upper right abdomen, radiating to shoulder blades, subsiding after an hour. Accompanied by indigestion, bloating, feeling of fullness in upper abdomen, vomiting, fever. One does not have to have all the symptoms. Sometimes the only one people get is the pain.
Your symptoms sound similar to the above. I think you should also look up fat digestion and fat absorption. Perhaps you have a digestive disorder - excess or deficiency of enzymes or bile salts so cannot properly absorb (or digest) the fats.

Thank you SOO much for your replies. I don't know what a "Probiotic" is, so I'm guessing I haven't tried it. What is that? I had my gall bladder taken out about 10 years ago with no problems after that whatsoever. This whole thing has been going on for about 8 wks. Any food that goes down, causes an "attack" that feels very much like a gall bladder attack. I instantly start burping..........and burping UP food. It's easier to intentionally vomit my food because it's easier coming UP than going down. If I empty the food I just ate, I won't get the attack. One of the doctors I went to Friday, mentioned that she thought it had to do with the Sphincter. I know nothing about this. I have an app't with "Gastro-Man" on Tuesday. Sometimes I feel that male doctors patronize me. I do not get that same feeling with my woman doctor. I wake up in the morning feeling GREAT! Like absolutely nothing is wrong. I feel much better laying down than sitting at work all day. I essentially just have an iced coffee that I "nurse" all day long (and finish only 1/2) To quell any hunger I might have, I can handle toast. Mostly, I'm not hungry anymore. I've lost 7 lbs in 6 wks. (a lifetime dream. ....but not this way!) I'm about normal height to weight so losing 7 isn't so bad. It's HOW I'm losing it. Food is my "Enemy" now. I'm pretty miserable. I'm so glad to have found this site. All I was doing was cruising around the internet trying to help myself when I found this. At least there are unbiased people I can chat with here that may have gone through similar circumstances. Thank you so much for your input.

Lee, :)

I hope for the best possible outcome for you. It's good to know you have doctors looking for the cause of your problems. Once the underlying cause is determined, the treatment can begin. You have to stop losing weight. You could have a digestive disorder, making it impossible for the food to stay down. The blood & urine workup will show any irregularieties. There could also be a physical reason for why the food does not stay where it belongs. You will be needing more tests. They'll find it.
Good luck to you and please stay in touch!
