how long does it take for a cortisone shot in foot to work

For me, it was almost instantly. I had plantar fasciitis and had cortisone shots and relief was very quick. Before I left the dr. office, all pain was gone on both occaisions. I was told, however, that they do not work for everyone everytime.

Depends on what the shot was for. If it was for a neuroma, it won't work at all. Other things, it might.

It took 3 days for me i had it in both feet and for the 3 nights after the pain was soo much worse then anything!! i was so upset at the Dr. for not telling me that it could cause way more pain but on the 3 day it went completely away! so it did end up a good thing.

Thank you so much for your reply. My heel is killing me from the shot it's been 2 and a half days. I'm really hoping the pain from the shot goes away soon. 11/14 I get another one. He calls it the super duper shot. That better work I want to dance with my son at his wedding 11/25
