First, I'm sorry if my sentence messy, but I really need help.
Last year at August we came to this doctor because my husband kept complained about his health. He's easily to get tired, his heart pump too fast, heavy to breath, he felt dizzy all the time, etc. He's working 10 hours/day, this made me worried so we looked this doctor from list of provider under Blue Cross <removed>.
We were waited around 1hour on the clinic and the doctor called us, once we sit, the doctor asked right away, do you will pay with cash or insurance? I said insurance, he started to grumble that insurance doesn't pay him well, we should pay him cash and totally ignore my husband.
He asked again, and I said insurance. And he started threaten us with said, "I will charge your insurance a huge amount of money, if they reject it you will have to pay everything". I said "We have more than enough, I have checked", he asked "How much", I said "More than $1500". And he asked again "Pay me cash $600 and I will not charge your insurance". I said "No".
He asked again "So do you want me to charge your insurance?", I said yes.
He's right away tell one of the nurse to take my husband blood sample and urine for lab test, also did X-ray for bones (I still wondering why) without even checking my husband.
After the nurse done with urine, blood sample and x-ray, the doctor asked us to get out (with impolite gesture), 4min later he called us and ask us to pay cash again. We said no, and he said the test result is fine and good. I asked the copy for the result he wont give me and started to yell.
Once again he asked with yelling (it's yell trust me) "Do you want me to charge your insurance??" I started to get annoyed and said "Yes", and he shooed us infront of lot of patient (yes, "shoo"). "Fine, if you dont have money then don't come! Insurance get me nothing! I'll charge you lot of money! You watch! Shoo! Shoo!!"
My husband is a very patient person, and at that time he got really pissed and told me to call insurance company to complaint. He said and did nothing to that doctor.. I was really wanted to slap the doctor actually with all his gesture, the way his talking and yelling..
We called insurance company and they wrote our complaint and sent us the confirmation letter, later in a week we checked the claim, this doctor charge $679 for "checking condition" on my husband! And he did nothing at all!! Also he charged 3 other bills, for lab fees is $375 and $418, another checking condition is $473. Insurance company rejected the bills for others and only paid the one for lab. A month later this doctor send us bills to home, asked us to pay $250 because insurance doesnt cover us.
I was ignore the paper and just stack it with other bills.
My husband paid the bills since he's mistaken with another doctor bill (Yes, we went to another doctor and have to pay another lab fee). He's diagnosed with too much work and fatique, his blood pressure was low and he need a lot of vitamins, he got better after went to another doctor.
At January 2008, They sent another bills for $149 for another lab fee to our home, this time, I'm dumb enough to paid and think It was my dentist bills.
Last week they sent us another bill for $220, and this time I checked all my paying history and found that I paid them too much already.
I asked insurance company, they said all we need to pay is $213 only for patient resposibility (Lab fees only), and no need to pay anything else. It's also said in the claim paper, our responsibility was $213.
I called the doctor and asked to return our money, they treat us said that they will put us on the bill collection agency if we're not paying this last bill.
We seriously need help, and oh my God, doctor like this is exist!
