For about 2 months now I've been having this weird pain/pressure on top of my head. It's not a severe pain and it moves from the top, back part of my head to my forehead at times. Sometimes it feels like someone is trying to drill right into the top center of my scalp. Sometimes my head burns and other times it tingles. I have sinus issues that mostly effect my ears. (I guess it's sinus related.) My ears constantly have pressure in them and sometimes the pain on top of my head feels like it goes straight to my ears. The doctors never find anything wrong with my ears. He thinks the pain on top of my head is sinus related. I just recently had a CAT scan of my sinuses and my head. The doctor said it was normal. He wants me to see an ENT. I am taking Flonase and Zyrtec. It seems to help a little when I take them. What can be done to treat whatever this is? It's really more annoying than painful but I'm ready for it to go away!

I had this problem about 10 years ago. Intense, acute pain like a needle being driven into the magnetic point at the top of my head and also a little to the left. If you're suffering from the Ice Pick headache, try stretching the neck muscles of the cervical vertebrae region. Lie down on your back and using your right hand pull down on the back of your head on the left side and then use your left hand to stretch the right side. Take deep breaths and give all the muscles, tendons and ligaments a really good stretch from the thoracic region (shoulder blades) all the way up to the brain stem. Do it slowly and gradually each time to avoid damage.

Could be your jaw too. Look into something called TMJ. Do you grind your teeth?
