My question is, is one of the symptoms of Bipolar Disorder a lack of concern for other people's feelings.

It can be....

You would need to describe how it happened....and give us more detailed information on any other symptoms that you have.

One symptom, with no details is not enough for anybody to give an opinion.

Well, that can be a human symptom at times. hehehehe.

I think we are all struggling from day to day, not always knowing how to protect ourselves and yet meet the needs of others.

I hope your o.k.

I believed I have said my fair share of "lack" of concern of other feelings 1000's of times. Basically when I tell people like it is!! But I have always been like that from day one.

Granted, I know when to bite my tongue then there is times it just flies right out without thinking- oppps!

I look at it this way, depends how you are saying AND what you are saying them. To me, if it is something that is saving a lot of time, and not beating around the bush go for it!! Why wait??

But yes I have said things, even to my own Mom, and about a day later I wish I could take it back.................

I believe that as BPers we have very poor impulse control, so the lack of concern for others (at times) is only a reminder that we have BP. So, yes, I have noticed that at times I have no regards for the feelings of others. I have noticed that many of my friends and family can behave the same. In short, I also agree with Daisy (Tony).

Just try to not be too hard on yourself. We are all fighting the battle of verbal garbage :)-

I have said things as well but it's usually when I'm in a heated argument with that specific person... I'm the other way around I get paranoid if I feel people don't like me so I usually keep my mouth shut unless I'm provoked.

I have that problem only when I'm manic.
