I was thinking about doing one of these to see if it helps my odd bowel movements as of late. Can anybody give me any advice on these things? If they are safe to do, will I constantly be on the toilet... etc? Which ones should I be using, or looking for?

Thanks!

I don't know anything about colon cleaners, but have you tried eating a big bowl of bran flakes every morning? Eat it before aything else. I do this and it makes you very regular. I also sprinkle ground flaxseed on top. It is kind of a laxative too. When you eat the same amount of fiber every day, you will become regular.

These so called colon cleansers are a scam. The body cleans itself naturally with proper fiber and water. Take the other persons advice about the fiber. You should be getting at least 25 grams a day, perferably more like 35 per day. But don't forget water, without it the fiber will only make things worse.
Do a search on foods with fiber if you don't know which ones have the most. Also you'll want to make sure you get fiber from whole grains as well as fiber from fruits and veggies. Remember to eat the peels!

Oh, I'm glad someone else besides me called 1 of these "alternatives" out for what they are! I'm usually the boogie-man for pooh-poohing things.
