Hi, my son just received a letter in the mail saying he has been nominated for this program. According to the letter only the most outstanding students (academically speaking) get invited to participate in these forums. The program runs for about 9 days in the summers. The cost of the program is about $2280, this does not include airline tickets, or lunches. According to the pamphlet information, he would get exposure to the field of medicine, which includes shadowing doctors for several days, all he talks about is being a doctor, and academically I believe he has what it takes,he has a gpa of 98%, and is ranked first in his class. I guess basically what I am asking is does anybody have the first hand knowledge of this program, is it worth it, or would it be a waste of a couple of thousand dollars? Is it really for the brightest academically, or do alot of students get these letters? Thanks for any replies.

My daughter also received this. She was recommended by her school. She has signed up to attend in July. Have you received any replies on this? We are hoping that this will be a great experience for her. She will be going to Washington DC
