About a week ago my step-dad's foot started puffing up, it progressed daily and he put off going to the doctor, then his knee started swelling, it got harder for him to walk, now he can hardly walk, and is in constant pain.

He got an x-ray today and the doctor told him it "might" be Rheumatoid Arthritis, which is obviously a very scary diagnosis.

He is over 50 and overweight, but can Rheumatoid Arthritis come on that fast? He has been given anti-inflamatries for now and he is going to see his GP in the next few days.

Honestly ra usually affects both sides of the body @ once, if both his knees then id say yes, but truth im thinking oa, but hey i can be wrong

In any case I hope they find what it is & your dad gets the medical treatment he needs
