I have flank pain on the right side...been having it for a very long time. Have had lots of test and even exploratory surgery. I'm also a kidney stone patient...have had several this year. Currently my latest tests shows many tiny (they give no measurements) stones in each kidney. Could this be the cause of the flank pain? My doctors don't seem to think so...but there doesn't seem to be anything else wrong. I at my wit's end here and tired of the pain and searching for answers.....:(

I have 18-20 in my kidney right now and don't feel a thing. If you have renal dilation you may feel that - I have constant renal dilation so to me I can tell you what that would be like, I don't know what it feels like NOT to have renal dilation. The stones may not cause pain but they can still cause infection. There are take at home tests you can due for infection. (Available at some of the more common drugstores) You may want to check them out.
