Does anyone know if Limbrel really helps osteoarthritis? What are the actual ingredients in this drug.

Their website has excellent information about the ingredients. It's a medical food from flavonaids.

HI, supposedly it's been studied..and approved by the FDA as a medical food specifically for OA. The studies show it seems to have helped some people. Just like Taape said, it's made from highly concentrated bioflavinoids that are found in fruits and I think some kinds of tree bark or something. The amounts in the pill, though, are so concentrated, that one would never be able to eat enough food containing these flavonoids. I tried Limbrel for a couple weeks, but it didnt seem to help me. However, I think one should be taking it for a few months to notice any benefits. My rheumy only gave me samples, he never gave me a script for it.

Thanks for the reply. Talked to my Dr. about it & he doesn't know what to think since its only been out since last year. Information i read says it takes at least 1 to 2 months before you can tell if it will help. I am still going to try & get a script from him. Of course my insur. won't pay for it. Seen a few that does though. It also says you need to take at least two a day.Dr. says look what happened with viox(not sure of spelling). I dont think taking Limbrel would be something to worry about unless they are allergic to what is in the pills.
