Is it OA when foot bones start to calcifiy? Is that the basic thing that happens....the bones start to get thick calcium crusted over them and they become very painful to move. It feels like I have broken some bones in my foot. Several months ago I had an xray of my other foot and doc said it looked like i had broken some bones and they were "over healing" by making large "coats" of calcium. I don't remember hurting my foot. Now today I come home from grocery shopping (3 hours on concrete) and I can hardly walk. Could my OA bones be so brittle that little foot bones could break without an accident? Maybe I better get a bone density test done. I really need to love 40 pounds and maybe the pain is just related to that. I am concerned about my foot bones breaking and then not mending correctly.I have severe OA all though my body--even my ribs.
