Hi everyone,
I had bunionectomy about 9 month ago. My big toe is a little bit raised and not fully on the ground. Since then I have frequent inflamation in my foot and I also had stress fructure in my second metatarsal since the weight goes mostly on the 2nd and 3rd toes. for about 3 month now I have strong pain in my 4th (and sometimes 3rd) toe. From reading this board it sounds very much like Morton's neuroma.
My questions are:
1. Are there any tests to diagnose Morton's neuroma, like x-ray or MRI?
2. Could this be result of the bunionectomy and raised big toe? My theory goes that since my big toe is not sharing the load I put too much pressure on the rest of the foot. Does it make sense ? I never had this pain prior to the bunion surgery.
Thanks
