I have Athlete's foot and am having a VERY hard time getting rid of it.
I'm almost 100% percent positive I contracted my case from going into the basement of our apartment building in wet sock feet (there was a flood in our apartment, and I was looking for the super) and then spending a couple of hours cleaning up the water from the flood while still in those socks
I have been taking cream treatments for roughly 6 months. I first tried over the counter creams, and after no relief, I went to the doctor who prescribed Lamisil. I have been using lamisil ever since (February).
At first I was washing my feet twice a day, and applying the cream...but as time passed and it wasn't fading, I began researching other home remedies to try along with the cream. For the past 2 months I have been washing my feet 5 times a day, and soaking my feet in a tub of water, salt and baking soda for 10 minutes 3 times a day.
Since summer has come, I have been wearing sandals and airing my feet out at home. This has helped a lot, and my feet don't bother me as much, but the athlete's foot still isn't healing up....I'm really at the end of my rope! I even had to quit my job (retail) because the burning was overwhelming http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif
I'm unable to go anywhere without burning (I don't really experience any itching) and I've even stayed in for the past week, to see if it would provide any relief.
I know there is a Lamisil pill that can be prescribed...but you have to have your heart and liver monitored while taking it. After 6 months of pretty much being a shut-in, I'm beginning to think it is my last and only hope!
If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated! If anyone has had it themself, and used a product or a home remedy that healed it up, please please let me know what it is!
Some condition info: my toes bother me the most, and I have red irritated bumps on the bottoms/between them. I haven't had some of the typical symptoms I have read about online, such as weeping sores, scaling etc...mainly just the burning, some minor itching when I first got it, and the red sores. In the past month or 2 the red sores have dissapeared, so I currently have no visible signs of the condition...but I can still feel the sores underneath the skin, and sometimes they ache.

Nita
